Young Irish blues-rock singer-songwriter Amy Montgomery continues to showcase her incredible talent with the release of 'Intangible', the title track of her forthcoming debut EP.
While the song was written as Amy grieved the death of her mother, the result is an enchanting, atmospheric, fierce slice of indie rock that demands repeat listens. With an enticing piano towards the end, it's like Mercury Rev had a cup of tea with Hole and invited Alison Mosshart to do guest vocals.
"'Intangible' was written on a boat as I contemplated the cyclical rhythm of nature," Amy says, "and how even death is just another necessary part of the circle that we call life.
"'Intangible' is about making peace with the loss or absence of a loved one. It is finding joy in experiencing their presence through a beautiful sunset or a flowing river. It is about the process. It is a celebration of life."

After making her Australian debut tour last year – travelling with William Crighton and playing Dashville Skyline – Amy worked with local producer Kyran Daniel (Gretta Ray) on 'Intangible'.
"Amy has a powerhouse of a voice, which when set off against high-contrast production such as this, delivers beautiful escapism, soaring into a dream-like chorus and a bridge with a nod to Sgt. Peppers. It was a joy to work on this track!" beams Kyran.
