On the third Saturday of April every year, independent record stores all over the world celebrate the culture of indie stores, labels and bands.
In Brisbane, Tym Records turned it up to eleven, hosting an in-store with one of Australia's most commercially successful indie bands, The Hard-Ons, headlining the show. Four other bands, local and interstate, filled the small venue with a mix of sounds and the crowd continued to grow as the evening wore on.
Check the full gallery from the day here. Performers include Hard-Ons, Captives and Sounds Like Sunset.
Hard-Ons 'Blackie' and Ray, founding members of the punk-pop band, delivered a set so pumped with the same energy and sense of fun fans came to expect when they formed more than thirty years ago. The earlier acts included Sounds Like Sunset, Columbia Buffet, Golden Bats and Tasmania's Captives. The Hard-Ons commence an Australia wide tour next month and return to Brisbane in June.
