British singer-rapper-poet, Hak Baker will make his Australian live debut this summer.
The East London alternative troubadour, responsible for such songs as 'Venezuela Riddim', 'Conundrum', and 'Bricks In The Wall' will headline concerts in Melbourne and Sydney in January. An artist who blends folk, hip hop, punk, grime and alternative tones – sitting somewhere between the Madness, The Specials, The Streets and Kano and counts the likes of Celeste, Mike Skinner, Fontaines DC, Skepta and Slowthai as fans – recently released the two-part EP 'Nostalgia Death', which features collaborations with Baxter Dury, Pete Doherty and Joe James.
"'Nostalgia Death' the memoirs of a misfit. This my fav project I made I think. I just want the music to do the talking, no malarkey," Hak says.
The EP was produced by Craigie Dodds (Amy Winehouse, Nitin Sawhney, Gorillaz). "[It's for] the broken lads, the girls and the boys chasing the night, the people who feel like fire, the ones who look back, and struggle moving forward," adds Baker.
Melbourne tickets on sale from 10am AEDT on 4 November. Tickets to Sydney Festival concert are on sale.
