"We are a country, rock and blues festival, so we've ensured we ticked each of those boxes with this year’s entertainment," Program Director Oz Bayldon says.
"It's a real coup for us to have the likes of Hoodoo Gurus, Wolfmother, The Angels, The Screaming Jets, and 19Twenty on top of all our blues acts. They are in addition to our huge range of top line country music artists from Australia, the US and Canada."
While it's still 250-plus days away, Gympie Music Muster's event organisers are already busy releasing their first music line-up for 2023.
Aussie country music royalty headline the artist inclusions with Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand and Kasey Chambers all headed to Amamoor State Forest in 2023.There are also a couple of Canadian additions with Dan Davidson ('Found') and Gord Bamford ('Dive Bar') stamping their passports to Queensland in 2023.
However, the talent doesn't end there with Casey Barnes, Busby Marou, Andy Golledge, The Angels, Ash Grunwald, Bill Chambers, Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley, Don Walker, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, Gina Jeffreys, James Blundell, Jayne Denham, Travis Collins and The Wolfe Brothers also joining the party.
"After the success of this year's festival we really are proud to kick off the line-up with ten 2023 Golden Guitar nominees and an array of awesome Aussie and Canadian talent," Program Director Oz Bayldon says.
"We look forward to presenting more than 30 artists every day during the festival; there will certainly be plenty of variety to keep everyone happy. The line-up for the second announcement in early 2023 will not disappoint either."
After winning the ARIA Award for Country Album Of The Year and being nominated for five Golden Guitars, Casey Barnes is keen to get back to the festival in the forest in 2023 after a memorable 2022.
"I've been to around six or seven Musters and the one we did this year was one of the most special gigs I've done in a long, long time and was easily my favourite Muster performance," he says.
"It's great to see the Muster going ahead and really special to see all the people support the event."
Melinda Schneider is also keen to return to a festival that holds a special place for her. "It did my heart good to be asked to play the Gympie Muster next year because I love the Muster," she says.
"It is a real nostalgic event for me because I've been there a lot over the last 20 years and it's always a one-of-a-kind event; there is nothing else like it really in the world."
Tickets are on sale.
2023 Gympie Music Muster takes place Amamoor State Forest (QLD) 24-27 August.
