Across three days and nights of (free) country music rhythms and grooves, the Groundwater Country Music Festival (CMF) returns to Gold Coast's Broadbeach 28-30 October.
Set to headline is current queen of Australian country Fanny Lumsden, the eight-time Golden Guitar winner won her very first ARIA Award for her acclaimed album 'Fallow' in 2020.The soulful, earthy country of Australian singer-songwriter Travis Collins co-headlines Groundwater CMF alongside Lumsden, the seven-time Golden Guitar Awards winner a mainstay of the country scene since his 2005 debut album 'Start The Car'.
"It's such a thrill to be heading back to Groundwater CMF this year!" shares Fanny Lumsden.
"It was the first festival we got to play on the 'big stage' back in 2017 so it's truly one of our favourite festivals. . . to play and just to be at as well."
Joining Lumsden and Collins is wife-husband duo Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley (who've released two singles in 2022: 'Roll On Baby' and 'Star Of The Show'), stalwarts of the Aussie scene Catherine Britt and Gina Jeffreys as well as Kirsty Lee Akers, whose new album 'Wild' debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts late last momth ahead of The Kid Laroi and Lee Kernaghan.
Other line-up additions include international guests Kiwi Kaylee Bell (who'll be opening act for Brad Paisley's world tour in late 2022) and Canadian Dan Davidson who last year released the catchy country-pop single 'Really Shouldn't Drink Around You' with Hayley Jensen, who'll also be appearing at Groundwater CMF.
"There is finally light at the end of the tunnel – live music is back!" enthuses Kirsty Lee Akers.
"I can't wait to step onto the stage at the Groundwater Country Music Festival, my favourite festival of the year in beautiful Queensland. It's going to be one hell of a party for us all."
With more acts to be announced, other line-up highlights from he first batch of confirmed performers includes Kristy Cox, Andy Golledge, Lachlan Bryan & The Wilds, Cass Hopetoun and Raechel Whitchurch.
