'Vienna' and 'Drive' singer-songwriter, Gretta Ray will release her sophomore album 'Positive Spin' this winter, touring nationally to promote the release.
The follow-up to Gretta's ARIA Award- and J Award-nominated 2021 debut LP 'Begin To Look Around', the pop artist has crafted an album 'bathed in golden light, a hazy sunset of love and heartbreak, growth and understanding', a collection of personable songs that sees Ray process a range of emotions."Songwriting is so therapeutic, and my way of moving through my emotions has been to put a positive spin on my experiences," Gretta says.
Following the release of lead single 'Dear Seventeen' earlier this month, Gretta's newest album single is 'Heartbreak Baby', a track that finds Gretta singing: "I shine bright when you break me / That's what makes me a heartbreak baby."
Ray and her band will embark on a six-date live run this September visiting Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.
"Being in pop music and being a woman in pop music. . . your perception of where you're at can get very warped," shares Gretta.
"I'm starting to really settle into my mid 20s. . . I feel stronger now than I ever have; I am so much more equipped to do the job now, and to be this person now.
"I feel really empowered by the knowledge that I have gotten, over the years of experience that I have had in this industry."
'Positive Spin' will be released 18 August, 2023. Pre-order it.
Tickets on sale from 9am EST on 29 May.
