Great Southern Nights have added more than 30 new artists and bands to its 2022 line-up that will see hundreds of live music events brought to every corner of New South Wales (18 March to 10 April).
An initiative of the NSW Government in conjunction with ARIA, acts already announced late last year include Amy Shark, Baker Boy, Courtney Barnett, Fanny Lumsden, Jessica Mauboy, Julia Stone, Masked Wolf, Missy Higgins, Northlane, Skegss, The Veronicas and Violent Soho.The new arrivals again feature a diverse mix of acts across multiple genres and generations: Ball Park Music, Confidence Man, Illy, Kate Ceberano, Marcia Hines, Montaigne, Sheppard and The Jungle Giants plus many more.
"New South Wales! The long awaited return of your mates Ball Park is finally here," enthuses the Brisbane indie legends.
"We'll be playing at Charles Sturt University as part of Great Southern Nights. Joining us will be the incredible Yorke. We're really excited for this one."
Set to generate a stack of work opportunities for artists and production crews as well as much needed revenue for venues, Great Southern Nights also promotes tourism for regional areas statewide.
"NSW! Stoked to announce this particularly sexy regional show in Albury for Great Southern Nights next month," beams The Jungle Giants.
"We'll be taking our tour buds Lazywax along with us so ya know it's gunna bang. I'm also extra excited cos there's no chance I can get sunburnt."
While rapper Illy is equally excited about the prospect of performing live to music lovers who usually don't see such big-name acts in their backyard.
"NSW! The good people at Great Southern Nights have invited me to Albury (8 April) to play a real life, actual, show!
"I'd love if you come, it's been a long time between drinks. Well, technically it's been about 16 hours between 'drinks', but whatever – it's my first headline show in OVER A YEAR! Wow. See you there."
