The company behind the Grass Is Greener Festival has been placed in to administration.
Handpicked Events And Marketing was placed into administration on 8th December owing $2.5 million to creditors which included ticket purchasers.
The October 2022, four-leg east coast incarnation (Cairns, Gold Coast, Canberra, and Geelong) boasted an array of internationals including Ty Dolla $ign, ZHU, and Maya Jane Coles, all of whom withdrew.
Sydney hip-hop group ONEFOUR also backed out, claiming on social media the festival had 'failed to honour their obligations'.
In mid-October the company cancelled its Geelong and Canberra dates citing production costs, artist fees and ticket sales as primary issues. The Queensland festivals (Cairns and Gold Coast) proceeded with the reduced line-up.
Handpicked Events And Marketing (in administration), based in Queensland, is not associated with Handpicked Festival in South Australia which was washed out this year and slated for return in 2023.
