'While we are glad to see restrictions easing in Victoria we do not have sufficient clarity on cross border travel and quarantine requirements to ensure our Victorian-based patrons and artists can easily travel to Tocumwal on 18 & 19 June.
'The line-up, programme and venues will all remain the same, and all donation-based tickets remain valid for the new dates.
'Refunds will be available for the next 7 days for any ticket holders who cannot attend the new dates – ticket holders will be contacted directly with details.'
The team behind Strawberry Fields will deliver a winter solstice adventure with the inaugural Good Times Festival celebrating live music, art, food, workshops and local delights this June.
Set to take over the picturesque township of Tocumwal (on the Murray River) for two days, Good Times has been initiated to foster local businesses and draw in visitors with all performances either free or donation based, with proceeds going to the local community groups. The historic Terminus Hotel will light up on Friday night, hosting neo-soul collective IZY, cigar box and six-string guitar singer-songwriter Anna Scionti and swamp, Voodoo blues trio, Southbound Snake Charmers.
Then on Saturday, Tocumwal's Deniliquin St will be closed and transformed into an adventure alley, with a prohibition era Speakeasy Bar hidden away, a fortune teller reading palms, and the opportunity to participate in a 'relatively serious' game of pub backgammon.
The live music programme will also feature a number of ticketed shows, led by Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald bringing their new album 'Push The Blues Away' to life, or award-winning Yorta Yorta singer-songwriter Benny Walker and his soul-driven guitar songs.
Melbourne band Cash Savage and The Last Drinks bring their raw, brooding powerhouse version of alt. country and fellow Melburnians Sagamore deliver blue-eyed soul and Afro-funk grooves.
Don't sleep on soul sensation Emma Donovan and her rhythm combo The Putbacks, as well as Coburg's cinematic soul journeymen Surprise Chef, and hypnotic vocalist and instrumentalist Noongar artist BUMPY.
There'll also be a stack of pop-up shows along Deniliquin St, featuring artists like Danika Smith, Pete Denahy, Matt Katsis, George Kamikawa, Heidi Moncrieff, Shane & Ellie and Mohamed Camara.
"Council is excited to welcome back entertainment on this level to the Berrigan Shire," Cr Matthew Hannan says.
"Strawberry Fields have a long association with Tocumwal and for them to bring Good Times event for a two-year period shows the commitment to our area.
"We look forward to the Good Times Festival and stimulating further economic activity within the Shire."
Good Times has been made possible thanks to the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative.
Return buses will be on sale from Melbourne, Albury, Shepparton, Cobram, Barooga, Berrigan and Finley to support sustainable, responsible travel.
Tickets on sale at 9am EST 15 April. More information.
