Almost a decade since they last toured Australia, Good Charlotte return in 2026.
Their hits (like 'The Anthem' and 'Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous') have defined the sound of a generation. For nearly three decades they've been the voice of the underdogs, the dreamers, and the outsiders who found an anthem in every chorus.
Last down under in 2018 (including playing Download Festival), the pop-punk, emo legends will kick off their Motel Du Cap world tour in Australia celebrating the release of their eighth studio album of the same name.
The tour, which lands in Perth, Brisbane, Bendigo and Sydney next February, will see Good Charlotte joined by Yellowcard (fresh from their April 2025 tour – read our review of the Adelaide concert) and Aussie alt rock legends Kisschasy (who also toured nationally back in June - read our review of their Melbourne concert).
"Australia is such a special place to Good Charlotte and to me personally," Joel Madden says, "it feels like a home away from home in many ways, and we can't wait to head back there for some big shows.
"It's been far too long since we've spent time with our Aussie fans, we're all in for a big treat."
Seven years since their last album ('Generation Rx'), and following a band hiatus to focus on other projects, the spark for 'Motel Du Cap' was ignited when the band played a private gig at the iconic Hotel du Cap in France for Joel and Benji's younger sister's wedding in 2023.
"It was this wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe," Joel recalls. "We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this – pure, unfiltered connection." That night became the heartbeat of the album, a love letter to stripping things back and letting the music speak for itself.
Of the standout track 'I Don't Work Here Anymore' Joel says it "is a song about quitting anything in your life that doesn't appreciate you, anything that doesn’t make you better or anything and anyone that isn't good for you.
"Taking charge of yourself – and life – isn't always easy, but it's always worth it to go your own way and bet on yourself."
Tickets on sale from 11am (local time) on 20 October.
