The line-up for the 2026 Golden Plains Music Festival is here, stacked with acts from home and abroad.
The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre has been natured and nurtured since the early ‘90s. . . For the sole purpose of hosting something truly remarkable. This year marks Golden Plains’ 18th iteration, and attendees can expect a golden thread of infinite delights across two days and two nights.
First up is one of the biggest to ever do it – Basement Jaxx. They layered the sounds of ‘90s Brixton – Caribbean, South Asian, Brazilian and UKG – into a feverishly inventive update on UK house music, producing some of the noughties’ biggest bangers.
Catharina and Henriette, Smerz, write songs like they’ve hacked your 4am post-party group chat. Bleary, lusty, art-pop. They conjure up a dream state plugged directly into life’s goo. Golden Plains will be their first ever visit to our shores.
Marlon Williams will join the fun to perform songs from his new te reo Māori album, ‘Te Whare Tīwekaweka’. He’s already opened for Springsteen, starred in a Hollywood movie with Lady Gaga, and played on ‘Conan’. His latest offering is all sunlit bluegrass, gauzy fabs of Pasifika pop, He Waka Kōtuia harmonies, a delicate tangle of whānau, silliness and story.
Cut Copy have been doing it for two decades, from the jacked-up neon rush of ‘In Ghost Colours’, to the dazzling grooves of ‘Zonoscope’ and the icy shimmer of ‘Freeze, Melt’. Their latest ‘lucky seven’ is stacked with the kind of songs that’ll make listeners want to reach out for their mates.
Obongjayar’s star has been rising for a decade, but it somehow feels like he’s just arrived in an eruption of spiritual punk, Afrobeat, hip hop and funk. His debut LP was technicolour and on ‘Paradise Now’, he’s truly nailed the vibe.
That’s not even the half of it – audiences can also get keen to experience the dreamy vibes of Water From Your Eyes, the psychedelic nature of Jalen Ngonda, punks Upchuck, the post-R&B nourishment of Nourished By Time, Yalanji, Jirrbal, and Badulaig artist Kee’ahn, troubadour in a hoodie This Is Lorelei, and more.
The vibes are immaculate, in a heaven-sent and custom-cut epic long weekend of music.
Golden Plains Music Festival is on at Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre (Victoria) 7-9 March.
