Golden Plains Lucky 7 Line-up

Cat Power

The long-awaited release of the Golden Plains Lucky Seven line-up happened this morning, making it a happy Tuesday indeed.

Golden Plains has delivered spectacularly yet again: silky-voiced songstress Cat Power will headline, along with Tallest Man On Earth and... wait for it... George Clinton And The Parliament Funkadelic. Yes, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer will play a massive two hour set with a 17-piece band. We hope you like funk.

For the uninformed, Golden Plains is a music festival that takes place over a long weekend in March at the Meredith Supernatural Ampitheatre. The ampitheatre is a permanent site that was set up just for GP and its sister festival, the Meredith Music Festival (whose stellar lineup has been out for a little while now). It's situated halfway between Geelong and Ballarat – in the middle of nowhere, really – and is the ideal haven for those of you keen to enjoy a long weekend of good music in (relative) peace.

GP boasts no commercial sponsors or signage and no market stalls in sight. Nobody's going to try to sell you anything, for once. Guests are allowed to camp wherever they want and bring pretty much anything they want.

Speaking of - did we mention that the festival is BYO?

The Golden Plains 7 ticket ballot is open now.
