After the success of last year's inaugural Gold Coast Music Awards (GCMA), nominations are open for the 2016 event.
A triumphant return that saw 30,000 People’s Choice Awards votes, 25 creative partners and a sold-out Awards ceremony, this year's GCMAs will also feature an additional category, Best Music Video, and the opportunity to be showcased at 2016 BIGSOUND. "I’m really excited by the growth in Gold Coast’s music scene,” said Joel Edmondson, Executive Officer of QMusic, BIGSOUND’s coordinators since 2001.
“The fact that Gold Coast will have its own BIGSOUND showcase will give local artists a unique opportunity to ply their wares in front of an international audience of music industry representatives, festival bookers and music buyers.”
2016 nominations are open until 30 April in the following categories:
• Artist of the Year
• Emerging Artist of the Year
• Song of the Year
• Music Champion of the Year
• Live Music Venue of the Year
• Live Music Event of the Year
• Music Video of the Year
The 2016 Gold Coast Music Awards will be held at the Burleigh Brewing Co. 16 June.
