It's a dream double bill line-up for lovers of '80s pop-rock, with English group Go West to partner with American singer-songwriter teen sensation Debbie Gibson to tour Australia this winter.
The Transatlantic '80s double header will feature concerts in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, and Brisbane in August-September.
Formed by Peter Cox and Richard Drummie in the early '80s, Go West won the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 1986 Brit Awards.
The duo were at their peak in the late '80s and early '90s with such anthems like 'We Close Our Eyes', 'Call Me' and 'King Of Wishful Thinking' (the latter featured on the 'Pretty Woman' soundtrack in 1990).
"It is always a pleasure and a privilege to play for our Australian fans who have been with us for four decades," Peter says.
"Unfortunately Richard can't be with me this time due to ill health, but I am looking forward to singing our hits and more with the mighty Go West band at some of my favourite venues. See you soon Australia!"
Often dubbed the original pop princess, Gibson made history when she became the youngest female artist to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 #1 single with the 1987 hit 'Foolish Love'. She achieved another #1 Billboard hit with 'Lost In Your Eyes' in 1989.
Debbie has also curated a successful stage acting career appearing in 17 musicals including 'Les Misérables', 'Grease', 'Beauty And The Beast', 'Gypsy', 'Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', 'Chicago', and 'Cabaret'.
"I'm so thrilled to return to Australia at long last," declares Debbie, who last toured down under in 1989 when she was 19; that same year she was recognised by ASCAP as Songwriter Of The Year along with Bruce Springsteen.
"My fans down under have remained loyal through the decades and supporting Go West on their 40th anniversary tour is a dream come true!"
Go West and Debbie Gibson together is a live concert experience bursting with nostalgia, pop magic and music anthems that defined a generation.
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 6 March.
