He's been bad to the bone for the last 40 years and now iconic rocker George Thorogood is returning to Australia with his band The Destroyers this spring.
Slated to headline concerts in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane and Adelaide from late October, George Thorogood & The Destroyers have sold more than 15 million albums, performed a staggering 8,000-plus live shows and amassed a back catalogue that includes 'I Drink Alone' and 'Get A Haircut' alongside their rock anthem 'Bad To The Bone'.Is it still good to be bad? "You bet it is!" George says. "We'll always be the baddest band in the land. Expect our best on this tour because that's what you're gonna get."
A mainstay of the US rock scene from the mid '70s through the '80s and early '90s, George Thorogood & The Destroyers features George alongside Jeff Simon (drums, percussion), Bill Blough (bass guitar), Jim Suhler (rhythm guitar) and Buddy Leach (saxophone).
"Since I was 17," George says, "all I wanted to do was see how far I could go with my guitar, putting my own spin on music I loved."
Alongside their original hits, the band are also know for their covers of well-known classics like 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer', 'Move It On Over', 'Who Do You Love'.
Tickets on sale from 12pm (local time) on 27 May.
