Gengahr release an acoustic EP of songs featured on their 2020 album 'Sanctuary'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

At the start of 2020, dream-pop indie rockers Gengahr released their third record 'Sanctuary'.

A DIY triumph, it welcomed old friend Jack Steadman of Bombay Bicycle Club as producer, adding his distinct brand of symphonic sparkle to the North London band's complex, layered sound.

"We're still very much focused on trying to keep making music and keep trying to build on what we started," frontman Felix Bushe told us in a January 2020 interview.

Two months later, the world was crippled by the pandemic and the majority of us found ourselves locked indoors. Gengahr were no different. "Lockdown gave us an unexpected opportunity to re-imagine some of the songs off our new record," Felix says.

"It was a really interesting process stripping down our most built up production to date, and seeing how the songs would exist in this new form."

The result is the 5-track 'Sanctuary (Acoustic)' EP featuring 'Everything & More', 'You're No Fun', 'Icarus', 'Heavenly Maybe' and 'Never A Low'. Click here to buy/ stream it.

An added bonus for fans, the band recently released their brilliant cover of Kendrick Lamar's 'LOVE'. Gengahr had been scheduled to play Glastonbury this year, as had Kendrick.
