Currently in the US supporting Paramore and Bloc Party, Ghanaian-Australian artist Genesis Owusu will release his sophomore album 'Struggler' this August before returning for a national headline tour at the start of summer.
The multi ARIA Award-winning hip hop, funk, punk-rock artist will play concerts in Perth, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide in December.'Struggler' is the follow-up to Owusu's debut album 'Smiling With No Teeth' (that netted four ARIA Awards in 2021).
"The 'Struggler' runs through an absurd world with no 'where' or 'why' at hand," shares Genesis Owusu.
"Just an instinctual inner rhythm, yelling at them to survive the pestilence and lighting bolts coming from above. A roach just keeps roaching."
Genesis teases the new album releasing lead single 'Leaving The Light' today, a fervent anthem about survival and perseverance that sets an urgent tone for the new record.
Joining the tour (excluding Perth) will be Atlanta hip hop duo EARTHGANG who have earned Grammy nominations (Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album) and recently performed at Coachella.
'Struggler' will be released 18 August, 2023. Pre-order it.
Tickets on sale from 10am EST on 19 May.
