After a successful 2020 that saw him drop a number of singles (including 'The Other Black Dog', 'I Am' and 'Don't Need You') Ghanaian-Australian indie electronic, funk-soul artist Genesis Owusu is prepping the release of his debut album.
Due to land 5 March, 'Smiling With No Teeth' is Owusu's first extended release since his 2017 debut EP 'Cardrive' and features a spectrum of genres from club-ready dance tracks to soulful funk and everything in between. It contains the aforementioned 'Don't Need You', which garnered Genesis's second ARIA Award nomination (Best Soul / R&B release) and landed at #73 on the Hottest 100 – his first entry in triple j's annual poll.
The former triple j Unearthed finalist (2015), Owusu is also ready to bring his Goon Club (on-stage hype-men and DJ) on tour, with a nine-date national run planned in April.
He'll visit Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Fremantle, Perth and Adelaide. Tickets on sale now.
