Melbourne-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Flipo aka G Flip is the latest recipient of the prestigious Levi's Music Prize.
G Flip and her team have their sights set on building global relationships with dedicated writing trips to London and Los Angeles, where Georgia will co-write with a range of artists and explore opportunities."I’m so stoked; the money will go to getting my little arse around the world to write for myself and for other artists," Georgia says.
"Thank you so much Levi’s, thank you Stage And Screen, and thank you for supporting Australian music. It’s so brilliant that you do this and I thank you so much."
Now in its fourth year, the coveted Levi’s Music Prize provides $25,000 cash courtesy of Levi’s Australia plus an additional $5,000 in travel from Stage And Screen financially assisting them in achieving their export goals.
Previous winners include Gordon Koang, Ecca Vandal, The Teskey Brothers, Amyl & The Sniffers, Stella Donnelly, Alex Lahey, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Hatchie and Emerson Snowe.
The Prize supports artists that have built significant initial career momentum via their BIGSOUND experience, but who need a financial leg-up to keep moving forward on the international stage.
scenestr would like to congratulate G Flip on winning this round of the Levi's Music Prize.
