Future Entertainment Enters Liquidation

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The companies formerly comprising Future Entertainment have entered liquidation, according to documents filed in the Supreme Court of Victoria this week.

Future Entertainment legally changed the names of three of its major companies back in June. Future Entertainment Pty Ltd, the company which has operated Future Music Festival and Summadayze (Summafieldayze in Queensland) has changed its name to Music Events Holdings Pty Ltd. Music Events Holdings Pty Ltd has also entered liquidation.

Tone Deaf says the trademarks have been transferred to Future Music Holdings Pty Ltd, which was registered in May this year.

Future Music Festival will proceed in 2014, according to an announcement earlier this week from Frontier Touring Company, which announced a "strategic alliance" with Future Music Festival.

"The relationship with the Mushroom Group will reaffirm the position of FMF as the largest 100% Australian-owned and operated major touring festival", said the statement, with the first line-up announcement scheduled for mid-September.
