American band Fun Lovin' Criminals return to Australia in 2026.
The funky-rap rockers behind such hits as 'Scooby Snacks', 'The Fun Lovin' Criminal' and 'Couldn't Get It Right' will headline concerts on Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne next March. "We can't wait to party with our FLC fam down under in March."
Mixing funk, blues, hip hop, jazz and disco influences into their compositions, Fun Lovin' Criminals emerged from New York City in the early '90s, achieving mild success during that decade with their first two albums: 1996's 'Come Find Yourself' and 1998's '100% Colombian'.
Both of those albums charted in Australia, where their current audience mostly resides with their Spotify stats indicating four of their top five cities are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Fun Lovin' Criminals' third album 'Loco' (released in 2001) achieved a Top 5 on the UK album charts, the single 'Loco' becoming their biggest hit to date. A number of albums followed in the 2000s.
After original vocalist-guitarist Huey Morgan departed the group in 2021, bassist, keys, trumpet player (and final original member) Brian Leiser took over lead vocals, with Naim Cortazzi taking over as guitarist, joining Leiser and longstanding drummer, Frank Benbini.
Earlier this year, the band released their first new album in 15 years dropping 'A Matter Of Time'. Mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Tim Latham, the new record stays true to the 'this here song' philosophy that has earned the band a massive cult following.
"Our fans have been wanting to hear new music from us for years," Benbini says. "We have a renewed creative freedom. . . Fun Lovin' Criminals are not going anywhere – except on tour."
