Aussie punks Frenzal Rhomb can see the lighter side of the pandemic and the much-discussed vaccine rollout, with news they are heading out on a national inoculation rollout programme (May to November) disguised as a punk-rock gig.
Oh, and for fans patiently waiting for a new Frenzal Rhomb album, the band have officially acknowledged via their press release that the writing of new FR songs is the 'only thing slower than Australia's vaccine rollout'. Cheeky buggers.They've even doubled down on the blood-clotting controversy, proudly declaring there's an 'even tinier chance of any new music from Australia's semi-favourite still-here punk rock band before 2022' than getting blood clots from the AstraZeneca jab.
"Our studies have shown that genetic mutations are creating new variants of power chords played fast through a distortion pedal, which are continuing to emerge daily," Frenzal Rhomb's chief medical officer Doctor Lindemans said at a late-night press conference.
"We're confident it won't be too long before some of those chord progressions reach our shores."
Alongside appearances to dispense free doses of punk-rock feels at festival series Spring Loaded and Full Tilt Festival, Jason Whalley, Lindsay McDougall, Gordy Forman and Michael Dallinger will also venture far and wide: Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, Darwin, Wollongong, Perth and Bunbury.
