Music is the universal language.
French-based French Kiwi Juice (FKJ) said very little, but through his music he was able to say a lot. In an intimate gig at Adelaide’s Rocket Bar & Rooftop (25 November), FKJ displayed a unique take on his opinions of what classical music should sound like in the 21st century.
The electro-classical sounds which reverberated from every instrument in his repertoire, made the crowd dance through the melodies. How sweet it must be to have that influence over people with only a simple piano or saxophone.
His music echoed around the familiar club stage and brought people who may never have even met, even in a city-country town like Adelaide, together. And despite the relentless flashing of the strobe light, which flashed right in the faces of those in the front row, he held focus and made people listen and appreciate the musicianship and melodies as a single entity.
To be privy to such an intimate concert in little, old Adelaide was something that should certainly be appreciated. The ability to complete such an intricate set is something that you should definitely not miss. A performance, showcasing a French-electro vibe with piano, keyboard, saxophone, bass and electric guitar; all performed with the greatest concentration and skill.
