It's been six years, but Flume's long awaited third studio album 'Palaces' is incoming later this year, the Grammy-winning artist introducing the new record with lead single 'Say Nothing' featuring Sydney artist MAY-A.
"This song is about feelings of post-relationship clarity," Flume says. "We wrote the song midway through 2020 while the pandemic was still pretty new."I was really excited about the initial idea but it was only once I got back to Australia in early 2021 and linked up in the studio with MAY-A that the song really came to life."
Adds MAY-A: "Working with Flume on 'Say Nothing' has been a really incredible experience. I'm such a big fan of Harley's so it's unbelievable to be in a position to create music with someone I look up to and can learn so much from.
"His creative process is a really inspiring thing to be a part of. I'm so excited for everyone to hear the song!"
Flume returned to Australia from his Los Angeles base when he was 'struggling to write music'; settled in a coastal town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, the parts for 'Palaces' started coming together the artist inspired by a return to nature.
The album features a host of vocalists and collaborators: breakout star Caroline Polachek, household name Damon Albarn, Spain's Virgen Maria, France's Oklou and fellow Australian Kučka, who again collaborates with Flume after her appearance on his 2016 album 'Skin'.
