Acknowledging the best independent recording artists in the country, Australia’s independent music industry will descend on its new home of Adelaide for the prestigious 2017 AIR Awards at Queen's Theatre 27 July.


The Awards will be held as part of the 2017 Umbrella: Winter City Sounds programme.

And the nominations for the 11th AIR Awards are in. Flume, D. D. Dumbo, A.B Original, Alex Lahey and Ali Barter will contend for Best Independent Artist.



Adelaide will host the awards – for the first time in its history – for the next three years. A two-day music industry conference happens 27-28 July also in Adelaide as part of Umbrella: Winter City Sounds,
