Grammy Award-winners Lizzo and Cardi B have come together for the first time in the new single ‘Rumors’.
Immediately dropping alongside the track is its video – an over-the-top visual spectacle with ‘Hercules’ references, shimmering gold togas, mesmerising choreography and a handful of stunning computer-generated backdrops to complete the fantasy.
The pair aren’t holding back in the lyric department either.
“All the rumours are true,” Lizzo sings. “Bitch, I don’t give two sh.ts.”
“Spendin’ all your time tryna break a woman down, realer sh.t is going on baby, take a look around.”
Cardi comes in a little later in the track, with her signature rapping fitting the instrumental like a glove: “All the rumours are true, fake ass, fake boobs,” she says. “They even posted on blogs overseas, a lie in a language I can’t even read.”
‘Rumors’ is a sure-fire way to stop the nay-sayers before they even have a chance to open their mouths! Not to mention Lizzo using the opportunity to spill some self-empowerment and home truths.
“I am body goals, yeah, this sh.t from my soul, yeah, black people made rock and roll, yeah.”
