First Round Of WOMAdelaide Artists Announced

The Specials
National Arts and Comedy Editor. Based in Melbourne.
Pop culture, pop music and gaming are three of Jesse’s biggest passions. Lady Gaga, Real Housewives and The Sims can almost sum him up – but he also adores a night at the cinema or a trip to the theatre.

The 25th anniversary of Adelaide's World of Music, Arts and Dance Festival is fast approaching, and the first load of artists has dropped today.

After putting out a number of international hits and hitting the 40 year anniversary of their inception, The Specials will return to Australia to bless music-lovers with songs like 'Ghost Town' and 'A Message'.

Joining them is one of the world's most successful Brazilian artists, Grammy-nominated Bebel Gilberto. She'll give the festival a hint of spice with her electronic twists on laid-back sounds.

On the performance side of things, Cie Carabosse are returning for their fourth WOMAdelaide creation: a nightly fire installation in Frome Park called 'The Exodus Of Forgotten Peoples'. It explores global migration and mixes fire, video projections and performance.
