Channelling the lo-fi sounds of the late '70s, early '80s punk and surf-rock vibes, Sunshine Coast rockers The Unknowns are back with new single 'Will You Wait For Me'.
With a love for retro, vintage rock sounds from another era, the trio of Josh Hardy (vocals/ guitar), Nathan Montgomery (bass) and Caleb Hardy (drums) harness old-fashioned authentic rock & roll riffs that will have you raising your fist to the man."We channel those '50s and '60s sounds a lot in our band as we just love the songs of that era," vocalist Josh says.
"We started playing about five years ago in high school and gigged in a lot of pubs around the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
"We had a lot more blues/ rockabilly sounds then, and that's morphed into finding our own sound."
Having shared the stage with the likes of Ed Kuepper (The Saints), The Chats and The Growlers to name just a few, The Unknowns are quickly becoming a known commodity.
With 'Will You Wait For Me' freshly dropped today, be among the first to stream the catchy hooks, and post-punk feels of this emerging band. Your ears will thank you later.
The song explores the classic theme of uncertainty in a relationship with lyrics including 'This town has eyes, the streets have teeth/ It's not necessarily all your fault, it's about what's underneath'.
