Musical duo and life partners, Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham will embark on a national tour this spring.
Set to play all mainland states as well as trips to Tassie and Canberra from late September through to end of November, Urquhart and Cunningham will be promoting their forthcoming album, 'Birdsong', that's due to be released 29 September.From Murwillumbah to Melbourne and Gowrie Park to Gympie, they'll be playing festivals, theatres, and unique venues.
In the tradition of Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, Urquhart and Cunningham's music is rooted in the blues, country, and folk traditions.
For 'Birdsong', they've teamed with award winning Matt Fell who lends his considerable talents to the project, proving a perfect choice as co-producer and musician.
So far releasing three singles from 'Birdsong' – 'Unsteady (Ever Since You're Gone)', 'Something Good' and 'Bogswamp' – the next taste of the new album arrives Friday (14 July) with the release of newest single 'Fly By Night'.
"Josh Cunningham and I have reached the point of celebrating getting everything to the pointy end; our [new] album will be coming out 29 September; it's called 'Birdsong'," shares Felicity.
"So here's to a good week; hope you're having a good Monday yourself; and on Friday there's some new music for you as a little treat to get good vibes happening for the new album."
Adds Josh: "It's all about getting free of the cage, finding your voice and singing."
Alongside material from 'Birdsong', fans can also expect to hear ARIA and Golden Guitar winning songs from the duo's back catalogue.
