Aimed at jumpstarting the local music industry, Gold Coast will welcome summer's newest festival when Feedback Festival delivers 100 hours of live music and an eclectic programme of more than 50 bands and solo artists this December.
To take place across ten days (3-13 December) and featuring ten venues, Feedback Festival will present mix of indie rock, punk-rock, folk, roots, blues, pop, singer-songwriters, jazz, electronic and Italian-inspired soul.Line-up highlights include Benny D Williams, Black Rabbit George, DENNIS., The Dreggs, Ella Fence, Felicity Lawless, Hussy Hicks, The Jensens, Karl S Williams, The Koi Boys, Peach Fur, Radolscent and Trichotomny.
There's a couple of Aussie legends also part of the bill with Russell Morris and Tim Freedman (The Whitlams) joining the action.
There'll also be a number of secret shows popping up around the city featuring some bigger-name acts (stay tuned in early November for that reveal – otherwise, channel your best Wheel Of Fortune mind and solve the puzzle below; organisers have given some hints within the line-up).
With such a turbulent past few months, Feedback Festival offers local musicians and music lovers alike the opportunity to return to some semblance of the old normal, injecting some much needed culture in the process.
"The Music Advisory Group wanted to help live music recover from the last six months and we knew engaging existing live music venues was the best way to do that," Music Advisory Group Chair, Dean Gould says.
"Most importantly Feedback Festival 2020 will be fun, but it is also a symbol of the Gold Coast's commitment to the live music scene."
Feedback Festival will host a number of free events alongside tickets concerts. Tickets available now.
"It's so exciting to see live music back at our venues," Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate says.
"We know how important it is to our community as well as the local arts scene. I would encourage all music lovers to get along and check out the local talent and support local venues.
"It's wonderful to see our Music Action Plan coming to life, doing what it was intended to do – that is, supporting local talent, art and the Gold Coast music scene."
2020 Feedback Festival takes place across 10 Gold Coast venues from 3-13 December.
