Superlative-psychedelic bass producer Silicon Slave today releases 'Loudmouth', his first EP spitting hot-fire over his own glitch-hop beats.
A twisted-degenerate born in New Orleans and raised in the foothills of Australia, Silicon Slave is the diverse musical ramblings of Augustus Walker.
Well known in niche circles for his bass heavy beats, many don't know that the Canberra-based producer and MC has been rapping longer than he has been producing. "I originally started making music as a rapper, not a producer.

“I started writing rhymes in high school and was originally making beats as a way to create my own backing tracks. As I began going to more and more dance oriented parties, I became really fascinated with that side of production, especially psychedelic noises and esoteric bass. This is the first time I've tried to do a release that really combines the two."
The EP's lead single is 'Corporate Furry'. "It's a lyrical collage of abstract gobbledygook mashed up with societies expectations and a healthy dose of substance abuse. It's about overcoming your personal shortcomings and embracing the weirdness inside of you [and everyone else]."
"Basically the idea behind 'Loudmouth' is a loud, offensive kid getting up in your grill. In the video I'm wearing a Native American headdress. I'm not particularly partial to them, but my sis' got me one for my birthday a couple years back, so I figured I'd work it in somehow.
“I wanted to find the most offensive thing I could possibly do while wearing it, considering all the controversy surrounding them and all. I really like 'Breaking Bad', so we went all out... we even had the actual cook recipe in the video as well: if you look close."
'Loudmouth' is out now on Beanstalk Records. Silicon Slave joins Choon Goonz at Vision Gallery (Brisbane) 26 February.
