American alt-rock, power-pop band Everclear will return to Australia in 2023, and they're going old-school with an extensive 17-date run across the mainland.
Everclear are fresh from touring the US celebrating the 30th anniversary of the band. The 'Santa Monica' and 'Father Of Mine' hitmakers will spend the entirety of February down under with concerts in Ipswich, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Townsville, Central Coast, Canberra, Sydney (x2 shows), Newcastle, Melbourne (x3 shows), Torquay, Adelaide, Fremantle, Perth and Dunsborough."After spending the better part of 2022 celebrating our 30th anniversary as a band," frontman Art Alexakis says, "releasing our remastered debut album 'World Of Noise' on digital platforms for the first time ever, and recently releasing our new single 'Year Of The Tiger', we are so excited to be coming back to our home away from home with the largest and most inclusive Australian tour we have ever done."
Alongside 'Santa Monica' and 'Father Of Mine', fans can expect to hear a host of the band's classic songs like 'I Will Buy You A New Life', 'Wonderful' and 'Everything To Everyone' as well as their new material including 'Year Of The Tiger', which was released earlier this month.
"By mixing it up and digging into the catalogue, it still makes it fun and relevant for us, and I think for the fans as well," Alexakis says.
"It's still important to play the hits, but by playing those other songs as well, it makes it all seem more vibrant and real.
"Even though I recorded some of those songs over 20 years ago, I haven't played them in a long time, so it's like reinventing the wheel. I'm having more fun now than I have in years. I think all of us are."
Everclear's most recent studio album (their ninth) was 2015 release 'Black Is The New Black'.
