Entries Open For 2019-2020 WAM Song Of The Year Competition

Carla Geneve was the 2018-2019 WAM Song Of The Year overall winner.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

With more than $45,000 in prizes on offer and with past winners including Stella Donnelly, Carla Geneve, Abbe May, Luke Steele and Little Birdy, entries are now open for WAM's annual Song Of The Year competition.

Now in its 32nd year, the competition aims to recognise and showcase the talent of Western Australia's songwriters across all genres, levels and ages.

Open to all West Australian songwriters, bands, and producers, 2019-2020 Song Of The Year features 17 categories: Blues/Roots, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Folk, Jazz, Metal/Heavy, Punk/Hardcore, Pop, Rock, Urban/Hip Hop, Global and Act-Belong-Commit, plus extra categories for Schools 14 Years & Under, Schools 15-17, Outstanding Indigenous and Outstanding Regional.

All winners will be celebrated at the Song Of The Year awards night, with one song selected to win the coveted grand prize.

Last year's 2018-2019 overall winner was Albany-born artist Carla Geneve with her song 'Greg's Discount Chemist'. Click here to read the complete list of 2018-2019 winners.
