Australia, it's time to go 'Walking On A Dream' with Australian astral wizards Empire Of The Sun to return home in 2024.
With the release of their new album 'Ask That God' (their first studio record in eight years) quickly approaching (26 July, pre-order it), the alternative-electronic duo of Emperor Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) and Lord Littlemore (PNAU), Empire Of The Sun will headline concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth from late October."Australia we're coming home. Empire cannot wait to see you all," Luke Steele says. "Get ready, this is gonna be a wild ride as we embark on a journey unlike any other Empire has been on. New record, new show, new era, let's go!"
Alongside 'Walking On A Dream', fans can expect to hear all the classics like 'We Are The People', 'Alive', 'Half Mast' and 'Standing On The Shore' alongside material from 'Ask That God'.
The follow-up to 2016's 'Two Vines' (which featured the dance-floor fillers 'High And Low' and 'Way To Go'), Empire Of The Sun have teased 'Ask That God' with album singles 'AEIOU' (a collaboration with PNAU), 'Changes' and 'Music On The Radio'.
"It's on its sonic pilgrimage, making its way to you very soon – a love song to the underground, to celebrate all the underdogs of music and how everything can lift you up and take you to great places," the band posted about 'Music On The Radio'."
With over 5.5 million albums sold globally and a staggering 7.6 billion streams, Empire Of The Sun have garnered an impressive array of accolades, including eight ARIA Awards, two APRA Awards, and an APRA Billions Award.
"For eight years Empyreans you have waited patiently. Exciting news with our new album 'Ask That God' will drop on July 26. It has been a journey unlike any other that Empire Of The Sun has undertaken.
"We always 'go there' when it comes to exploration of both the self and the outside world. This body of work represents the greatest shift in consciousness our world has ever seen and that’s reflected in the music."
Adds Lord Littlemore: "We always draw our inspiration from the world that has drawn us. Be it a leaf or a mountain, an argument or an exhibition, a distant sound or a micro sleep. Empire has always been inspired and continues to find inspiration in all that is present around us."
While Emperor Steele shares: "'Ask That God' is an album we searched for and were thankfully blessed with. We are nothing more than conduits, gathering experience and finding what is meant for the Empire to find."
Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 30 May.
