With pop icon Elton John a major fan – "I can promise you'll be hearing more!" – US pop rockers COIN ('Talk Too Much', 'Malibu 1992') return with their vibrant new single 'Cutie'.
The follow-up to previous single 'Chapstick' (which has already accrued 7 million streams globally), 'Cutie' is the trio's take on control and change in our modern world."Three versions of us exist at all times: the actual, superficial and digital," COIN says.
"These identities are always changing, each one informing the other. How can we know which is even 'real'?
"How can I expect to limit someone to the context of my own self-awareness? 'Cutie' zooms in on control, change, and confusion.
"On a lighter note, the song is about AI tasting a tangerine for the first time. Throw the ingredients in the musical blender."
Band member Chase Lawrence co-directs the music video for 'Cutie' with Louis Browne (Olivia Rodrigo, J Balvin, Billie Eilish).
After a sold-out 26-city North American tour at end of the 2021, COIN will open for 5 Seconds Of Summer's UK arena tour before festival appearances including Bonnaroo and Governor's Ball.
