A musician whose work embraces melody, noise and experimentation, Super Magic Hats emerged on the Melbourne scene in mid-2011, receiving national airplay and a fast-forming slew of fans.
Super Magic Hats will be performing with Colourwaves and Friendships at the Wind Remix collection launch at Horse Bazaar, 15 February with free entry.
Super Magic Hats released his first single Wind in late 2012, taken from his self-titled debut EP which is set for an independent release this March. The song is built around tropical samples and a glitched-up vocal snippet and has already topped the AMRAP AirIt charts across community radio nationwide.
The Wind Remixes collection sees the Melbourne-based beat-maker and producer bringing some of his fellow beatmakers together to produce their own interpretations of the track. Remixes come from the likes of 15-year-old Japanese Wallpaper, rising star of the Melbourne beats scene Flash Forest and buzz-band Friendships, who has created a dark and deliciously twisted rework of the track.
East to West Blog refers to Super Magic Hats as "one of the brightest new electronic acts out of Melbourne."
Super Magic Hats has played extensively in his hometown Melbourne, recently at a sold out gig at Northcote Social Club alongside Sydney indie-electro act RUFUS. He has also begun touring nationally with a diverse range of artists including Shigeto (Ghostly International).
Super Magic Hats will be bringing his fresh beats to the following venues:
