Electric Fields 2022 Australia Tour

Electric Fields
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross, known around the country as the effervescent Electric Fields, today (18 November) share their new single ‘Gold Energy’, as well as news of a tour of the same name.

The kinetic future soul duo, who embrace their queerness and share Zaachariaha’s Anangu languages, are exploring an evolving sonic shift on ‘Gold Energy’. Fielding sings “kurunpa nganampa liprulala” in Anangu language during the pre-chorus, which translates to “adjust your spirit, correct your energy.”. This contentment takes commitment: it’s about fierce optimism.

The video for the track is out now, too, directed by Nima Nabili Rad.

“‘Gold Energy’ is about the shared spirit between people or animals or any living thing,” Zaachariaha says. “When you receive that gold energy, you can sit with it and collect its goodness.”

Ross adds: “Whenever Z and I write a song, we always have an idea rooted in philosophy. This song is about stadium-level joy, that feeling in the best times of life: gold energy.”

The duo will hit the road for dates around the country in April/May 2022, supported by bubblegum punk duo Cry Club (except in Darwin).

Tickets are on sale now.
