Egg Records And Rockinghorse Records Move In Together

Egg Records is moving from West End to join with Rockinghorse Records
Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard started Scene Magazine in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr magazine to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative for the title in the mid-naughties. He's judged more battle of the bands than he cares to remember and proud of the myriad media partnerships the company has earned across the music, arts and comedy sectors. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford Comma – way too much fun at parties.

Brisbane indie record store and pop culture destination, Egg Records is on the move – express to Rockinghorse Records in Albert Street.

Stalwart operators, Ric Trevaskes and Warwick Vere are joining forces and will operate as Rockinghorse Records downstairs at the current Rockinghorse premises in Albert Street. The CBD is not new territory for Egg having previously occupied premises upstairs at 121 Queen Street in the naughties, which had been previously home to Central Station Records in the 90s.

All the pop culture goodies in the West End shop are moving to the new store. "We're combining forces to create one very strong shop," Ric told scenestr. Trevaskes has music and records in his veins having worked at Rockinghorse in the 80s before going on to build his own iconic stores in Brisbane and Sydney. The move is happening "bit by bit" and will be complete by 1st November.
