A Perth/ Boorloo-based artist who crafts indie pop wth grim imagery, EDIE's brand of music will appeal to fans of Olivia Rodrigo, Gwen Stefani, and K.Flay.
After releasing a string of singles since her 2022 debut 'Blame Me', EDIE leans into bold, fiery and unapologetic main character energy on her debut EP 'Unsaid'.A gothic-sounding organ intro track that sounds like it was lifted from a cult 1970s vampire flick segues into 'Lie To Me' with its bubblegum flavoured, sultry alt-rock that's equally menacing as it's alluring.
'Villain' hosts a faster beat, the indie-punk tones blending with a bedroom riot grrl melody that's equal parts sing-along as it is a cathartic dance-circle for sad, romantic hearts.
A melting pot of punk-grunge-alternative-shoegaze, 'Cool Girl' sounds exactly like the person you have a crush on, whether that's at high school, navigating your 20s or acting like an adult as the 30s merge into the 40s – one thing is apparent, Dr. Martens are not optional as EDIE rallies against the stereotypical 'cool girl' persona.
The EP signs off with the delightfully emotive ballad 'Forget Me' that's drenched in melancholic feels, EDIE capturing the essence of hopelessness that lost love brings.
"'Unsaid' dives into everything I didn't say and didn't get the chance to. It's an extremely personal project, showing a new and vulnerable side to me," says EDIE, who shares some background tidbits about each track that creatures on 'Unsaid'.
