Update - 28 July, 2025: Ed has added an extra show each in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Scroll down for the details.

One of the biggest names in global pop-folk music, Ed Sheeran is returning to Australia early 2026.

With a staggering 2.5 million tickets previously sold in Australia (and New Zealand), the 'Shape Of You', 'Perfect' and 'Photograph' hitmaker will headline stadium concerts in Perth, Sydney (x2 shows), Brisbane (x2 shows), Melbourne (x2 shows), and Adelaide from late January to early March.

"Starting a brand new tour next year called the Loop tour. New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in," Ed says. "We kick it off in Australia and New Zealand in Jan, Feb, March 2026, which is always the best time, I can't wait to be back."

The run of shows also arrive alongside new music from Sheeran, who has shared the singles 'Azizam', 'Old Phone', and 'Sapphire', from his forthcoming eighth studio album 'Play' (due 12 September; pre-order it).

"'Sapphire' has been out a month now," Ed posted. "It's been incredible playing it on tour, seeing the reaction with audiences in real life, but also seeing India embrace it and see it go number one there makes me so happy."

The first of five symbol-themed albums Sheeran will release – with titles based on electronic media buttons: Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop – the new record 'Play' sees Sheeran returning to his "big pop" roots, and was somewhat inspired by musical cultures from around the globe – particularly Indian and Persian cultures and their surprising melodic connections to the Irish folk tradition he grew up with.

The upcoming stadium shows will incorporate new visuals, intimate acoustic moments, alongside his renowned loop pedal performances, and the full stadium sing-alongs only Ed Sheeran can deliver.

Tickets on sale at staggered times from 29 July.
