Earl Sweatshirt Drops Fan On Stage Like A Boss

Earl Sweatshirt
Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard started Scene Magazine in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr magazine to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative for the title in the mid-naughties. He's judged more battle of the bands than he cares to remember and proud of the myriad media partnerships the company has earned across the music, arts and comedy sectors. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford Comma – way too much fun at parties.

US rapper Earl Sweatshirt has punched a stage invader in the face dropping him to the ground at Max Watts in Sydney.

The gatecrasher jumped the stage and attacked the hip hop artist, whose real name is Thebe Kgositsile, around the back of the neck during the rapper's performance.

The Odd Future member escaped and retaliated like a boss — leaning forward to break the hold, twisting right, rising and landing a direct hit with his left, before a fellow performer got stuck in with the boot, leaving security to clean up the unsavoury mess — all to cheers of the crowd.

The seeds to the incident, captured on mobile phone, were apparently sewn earlier when Sweatshirt called the man out over an aggressive crowd surfing incident.

Sweatshirt backed up playing Splendour In The Grass without incident and still has shows slated for Melbourne and Perth next week.
