Brisbane thrash-party duo DZ Deathrays have announced a mammoth tenth anniversary tour, set to hit major cities in September and featuring Canadian punk outfit PUP.
The tour comes hot on the heels of their third full-length album, 'Bloody Lovely'. Each stop on the tour will be a city-specific, festival-style line-up, with home-grown support acts such as Ali Barter and The Gooch Palms. Canadian rockers PUP will provide main support at all shows.
DZ Deathrays were formed in Bundaberg, Queensland, in 2008 with Shane Parsons on vocals and guitar and Simon Ridley on drums. The pair soon after moved to Brisbane, where they began playing house parties and making waves in the local scene.
The next year, 2009, saw the independent release of their first EP, 'Ruined My Life', which featured tunes such as 'The Mess Up'.
Record label I Oh You signed the band and full-length album 'Bloodstreams' was released in 2012, which won an ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal Album and an AIR Award for Best Independent Hard Rock Album.
Sophomore effort 'Black Rat' was released in 2014 and saw the band win a second ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal Album.
