Again taking over Gold Coast's Miami Marketta, loveable larikkins Dune Rats will headline the 2023 instalment after recently releasing a new song, 'Be Like You'.Set to celebrate their 15th anniversary in 2024, The Smith Street Band have been a powerhouse of Australian independent music for the last decade; with six albums to their name, expect all the hits from Wil and the band.
"GOLD COAST! We can't wait to get back to Miami Marketta this December to play Best Night Ever! Huge line-up," shares The Smith Street Band.
Another entrenched member of the underground, Adelaide upstarts Bad//Dreems bring a rough-and-tumble brand of rock & roll to Best Night Ever.
"Weirdos of GOLD COAST! We're hitting Miami Marketta for the first time in four years for Best Night Ever. Get biblical. Part the sea. Build a boat. Sail away. I dunno.
"Good to be back on the bill with some old friends. Btw saw a hectic blue bottle a few weeks ago in Burleigh. Careful out there. They hurt. Kisses."
American surf rock band will also grace the Best Night Ever stage as part of their first live shows down under. "AUSTRALIA! So hyped to announce our first Australian tour. . . we'll see you there in December and January."
The festival will welcome the return of WAAX, who write the new chapter in their evolution with frontwoman Marie DeVita recently revealing WAAX will continue as a solo project.
"I've been thinking of a million and one ways to say this but I have decided to continue after what has been an ~eventful~ year.
"The WAAX community is who I am, and sometimes you need to take things away to get some perspective. Although we hold a lot of love, the boys are no longer continuing with me – life happens, being in a band is hard.
"But the more I thought about it, this project has always been an evolution of my songwriting and it felt weird to walk away. So here it is, the new WAAX era.
"I have heard your prayers and am doing two shows in Melb and Syd and Best Night Ever on the GC. After that I'm heading to LA to continue writing the next chapter. I look forward to seeing you all."
Returning to the live realm after a short hiatus, Pist Idiots are heading up the motorway to the Gold Coast for the first time since 2021. While Melbourne four-piece, Press Club will bring their distinctive indie sound too.
Best Night Ever will feature 11 bands across 2 stages with no set clashes. Bonus round! Others to play are Le Shiv, Dr Sure's Unusual Practice, Cheap Skate and The Sex Guys.
