South London post-punk band Dry Cleaning will make their Australian live debut later this year.
Since forming in 2018, and described as a group who walk 'in the ghostly shadows of Wire, Magazine and Joy Division', the band will headline concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, as well as performing at Meredith Music Festival.Known for the spoken-word style of singer Florence Shaw, Dry Cleaning released their debut album 'New Long Leg' last year that included the singles 'Scratchcard Lanyard', 'Strong Feelings' and 'Unsmart Lady'.
The band's sophomore record 'Stumpwork' is due 21 October, with album singles 'Don't Press Me' and 'Anna Calls From The Arctic' out now.
Shaw along with band members Nick Buxton (drums), Tom Dowse (guitar), and Lewis Maynard (bass) have again teamed with producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding) – who recorded 'New Long Leg' – returning to Rockfield Studios in Wales to make 'Stumpwork'.
Tickets on sale from 12pm (local time) 31 August. Meredith Music Festival tickets on sale from 11am (local time) 30 August.
