One woman has died, another woman is in an induced coma, and dozens of revellers have been charged with possessing and supplying drugs as the police operation continues at the Stereosonic music festival.
During the festival, a 25-year-old woman was taken to Concord Hospital, where she later died. Also during the festival, a 22-year-old woman was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and has been placed in an induced coma.
A NSW Police statement advised a major police operation was undertaken in an effort to ensure the event was safe and secure, and at the time of the release 69 people had already been charged with drug supply and possession offences, while 23 others have been issued cannabis cautions.
The commander of the police operation, Assistant Commissioner Frank Mennilli said that police are disappointed at the behaviour of many revellers. “The police operation is about minimising harm and providing a safe and secure environment for revellers to have a good time.
Over 48,000 people flocked to the Stereosonic 2015 festival at Sydney Olympic Park yesterday (Saturday 28 November 2015).
Stereosonic management and marketing company, Totem Onelove, posted the following statement on social media:
"Totem Onelove conveys our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the patron who tragically passed away on Saturday night at Sydney Stereosonic. As it is a matter with the NSW Police and Coroner we cannot make any further statements or comment.

Stereosonic 2015 continues in Perth today (29th November) before Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane legs next weekend.
