Drapht Teams With West Australian Symphony Orchestra To Show How The West Was Won

Drapht joins West Australian Symphony Orchestra in How The West Was Won.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Just over a week until Aussie hip hop OG Drapht drops his new studio album 'Shadow And Shinings', the rapper has joined forces with West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) for two special Perth concerts November 2022.

The 'How The West Was Won' show will revisit the 'Jimmy Recard' and 'Rapunzel' emcee's vast back catalogue across the past two decades, introducing listeners to all-new orchestral arrangements spanning Drapht's five-strong album discography alongside new tracks from 'Shadows And Shinings'.

"I'm playing with the WEST AUSTRALIAN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA next year!!!" beamed Drapht via his socials.

WASO are no strangers to the world of hip hop after performing with Hilltop Hoods in 2016. They've also completed recent commissioned works with two Western Australian rock music icons: Eskimo Joe and Birds of Tokyo.

"Raise your glass for the King of the Bar!" proclaims WASO. "Join us in 2022 for a collaboration of epic scale, Drapht and WASO: How The West Was Won.

"The multi ARIA Award-winning MC presents an exhilarating home-town show at Perth Concert Hall. Don't miss this explosive, fully orchestrated performance from a local great."

Tickets on sale 3 September from 9am local time. More information.

Drapht and WASO: How The West Was Won takes place at Perth Concert Hall 18-19 November, 2022. 'Shadows And Shinings' is due for release 10 September.
