Today was a slow day.
Apparently Hanson's sweet 'MmmBop' and the song that won't die out 'Baby Shark' sounding alike has been a hot topic of conversation for awhile, because even Imagine Dragons' Ben McKee tweeted last October about the ordeal, and firstly, we just want to ask Ben if he's okay.
Am I crazy, or does “Baby Shark” sound a lot like “Mmm-Bop” by @hansonmusic? ? also new music video out today for zero or something.

The Hanson trio even joked on Australian radio about the 'similar sounding' songs.
"Screw this guys, we're suing them right now!" They joked to Stav, Abby and Matt on Hit105.
Listening to both songs over a couple of times (there's only one song we don't regret listening to multiple times in 20 minutes – I'll let you decide which one), the only similarity we can pin-point is a simple chord progression that is a basic musical element of many songs.
The scenestr jury of four got serious and agreed. The repetitive lyrics can also be a similarity but that's not so much an audible element that can justify them being similar, rather than a more cosmetic type similarity – plus, Hanson include more than ten words in their hit single.
Although, parents everywhere were probably pulling their hair out whether their child was singing 'Baby Shark' or 'MmmBop'.
Instead of them being musically similar, maybe 'Baby Shark' is just the 'MmmBop' of today's generation... Just like how Travis Scott's 'SICKO MODE' is the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' of today's generation... Right?
It's up to you.
