2019 marks the tenth anniversary for Sydney block party Bad Friday, who are cranking it up a couple of notches this Easter with local Britpop rockers DMA'S, UK soul ensemble Jungle and an Avalanches DJ set to headline the boutique festival.
This year also features a new venue for the Marrickville institution, which will bolt down at Fraser Park on 19 April.
Indie-rock outfit The Jezabels are also celebrating their tenth anniversary alongside Bad Friday. They will be joined on the bill by the danceable post-punk boys of DZ Deathrays.
But don't fret, Bad Friday have not forgotten their roots (from their first, awkward steps at the Annandale Hotel to the laneways of Marrickville last year) with 70 per cent of the line-up still dedicated to Sydney acts.
Lime Cordiale will be playing hits from their pop-rock debut album, while psych-pop band World Champion and glam punk Johnny Hunter will populate the second stage at Bad Friday.
Other local additions include indie-rock act Planet, Georgia June who combines danceable pop with a punk attitude and dream-pop trio Baby Beef. Shogun And The Sheets will show off their smooth, melodic rock alongside self-proclaimed 'sh.test band' of Newtown, Scabz.
While Melbourne's low-fi retro-pop act RVG are also part of the first round of bands announced, with a stack more still to be unveiled.
There will also be arcade amusements and some of the community's best eats; it’s the quintessential Inner West experience, really.
