As the release of their fourth studio album nears – 'How Many Dreams?' out 31 March – Australian group DMA'S will headline a massive national tour incorporating a stack of regional dates.
The trio of Tommy O'Dell, Johnny Took and Matt Mason will headline shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, as well as travelling to Hobart, Frankston, Castlemaine, Torquay, Wodonga, Wollongong, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Kingscliff, Sunshine Coast and Cairns; many of these places DMA'S have never previously performed. Fans in WA, we're told you can expect news soon as well. After playing the main stage at Reading and Leeds, selling more than 65,000-plus tickets on their last UK tour and amassing over 400 million streams to date, DMA'S have released five tracks so far off the 'How Many Dreams?' album.
It was was recorded in London with Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys) and Rich Costey (Sigur Ros, Muse, Foster the People) before being completed in Sydney with Konstantin Kersting (Mallrat, The Jungle Giants).
"As a musician, being in the studio is my favourite thing. I prefer it to touring, I'm always in a good place when recording, I think the other guys are too. It's our safe space," singer Tommy told us in a recent interview (stay tuned for that).
Tommy may prefer recording to being on the road, but there's good news for anyone itching to hear 'How Many Dreams?' live.
"We're really excited to tour this album. I love seeing our music connect with people. That's the most special thing about being in a band, seeing the effect your music can have."
'How Many Dreams?' is released 31 March. Pre-order it.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 16 March.
