Dirty Diana X Cockheart Encourages Perth To Dance In Dark Times

Dirty Diana X Cockheart
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Buckle up, Perth!

The finest and fittest DJs and performance artists are coming together for Dirty Diana X Cockheart, a night of euphoria and indulgence. . . Because we're living in dark times.

Everything is on fire and WW3 gets closer by the minute as we yell into the void and get no response. All that's left to do is dance. Dirty Diana X Cockheart is going to be queer, messy and fabulous as hell.

Featuring Perth drag and burlesque royalty Scarlet Adams, Burlezque's Ava Royale, DJs Tilly Cums, House Of BOK and more.

Here, the folks at Dirty Diana answer a few questions about the night.

Tell us a little bit about this event.
QUEER. QUEER. QUEER.

There will be a bunch of personalities attending and performing at the event. Tell us a bit about this.
We wanted to bring together as many of Perth's LGBTQIA+ superstars as possible with a view to highlighting their queerness and raising awareness of our Indigenous community's plight surrounding the Australian bushfires.

What is the main goal/intention of Dirty Diana as a club night?
Local acts over internationals. Dancing together, loving freely.

And Cockheart is run 'for queers, by queers'. . . What are you most looking forward to about this collaborative event?
Dirty Diana and Cockheart are not about your clean-cut queens basking in perfection. We're each about individuality and fierceness culminating all shades and colours of the rainbow.

What goes into putting together an event such as this one?
"I don't go by the rule book. . . I lead from the heart, not the head." – Lady Diana Spencer

Why do you do it?
Community.

What is the best song to dance to on the brink of WW3... And why?
'Treaty' (Carl Cox Remix) by Yothu Yindi and Gavin Campbell (above). . . Why? Always was, always will be Aboriginal land!

Dirty Diana X Cockheart is on at The Rechabite (Perth) 8 February.
